A. Learning Goal(学习目标)The teacher will help you to talk about this topic from the perspectives of:1、What do you think you should do at work?你认为在你工作中必须要做什么?2、What do you think you shouldn't do at work?你认为你在你工作中不能做什么?3、What makes you a superior employee?是什么使你成为了出色的员工?B、Materials for Reference1、Things you should do at work1) Being an important part of making the team or workplace succeed at what it does;2) Keep learning, using academic education, self-study, and projects that stretch you
and give you accomplishment;3) Refuse to do illegal activities;4) Create ways for things to operate better;5) Create an atmosphere of caring;6) Being a person of genuine integrity.2、Things you should never do at work1) StealingWhether you think that the company "owes" you things like Post-its, pens and other
office supplies, or you simply don't think it's a big deal, you should be sure about
that in case your boss or co-worker catches you. Stealing can not only get you fired,
it's illegal.2) Blaming someone else for your mistake sure, having to admit you made a mistake is embarrassing, but not nearly as
embarrassing as it would be to have to admit you lied about it or tried to cover it
up.3) Spreading gossipWho knows why people get a certain high from hearing juicy gossip. Many of us are
guilty of passing along at least a few rumors at times, but the more you can avoid
doing so, the better off you will be. Try to avoid it. In addition, if you hear it,
don't repeat it.4) Calling in sick when you are perfectly healthy If you wake up and just cannot face the idea of going in to work, there's no reason
(unless this happens every day) you shouldn't give yourself a vacation, personal or
mental health day. Nevertheless, calling in sick is not only irresponsible and
insensitive to the co-workers who have to cover for you; it could also be grounds for
firing if you're caught.5) Abusing office technologyThis includes: spending a significant amount of time on personal phone calls, e-mails
or instant messages; using office time to type and print out the pieces of your
screenplay; going online to catch up on last night's episode of "My life on the D
list"; and using the office printer to make the invites to your holiday party.6) Involving co-workers in your personal problemsIf problems at home are distracting you from doing your job, that's one thing, which
you should take up with the boss or human resources. But involving your co-workers in
your personal problems is distracting and unprofessional.

B、Materials for Reference1、Vocabularyin favor of 赞成wisely 明智地investment 投资precious 宝贵的measure 衡量in pursuit of 追求expenditure 支出,花费incidental expenses 额外开支2、Reading material Personally speaking, i'm more in favor of spending money that only saving. But the
point is we should spend money wisely. When I was a high school student, it seemed
that I had the habit of spending after I had some extra money. I don't think that is
a kind of waste, however, I think it should be called investment and enjoyment. For
example, I've already had listened to my MP3 on my way to school when others still
carried their walkman; I could check up new vocabulary by using my electronic
dictionary quickly when others took their clumsy dictionaries to class. Although I've
spent more money than others, the convenience and the joyfulness it brings to me
can't be measured by money at all. Over the years, I've possessed a lot of things
that others are still in pursuit of. In my opinion, we need to creat happiness and
relaxation for ourselves in our stressful life.
